Emissions in Own Operations (Scope 1 and 2)

Our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions primarily arise from the energy required to operate our stores. We improve our energy balance through the modernization of our stores and administrative buildings as well as targeted energy-saving measures, particularly in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and lighting systems. We rely on a comprehensive data foundation: digital energy meters and sensors for temperature and air quality provide us with the necessary information. This enables building automation and the optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. With smart metering systems, we are able to monitor electricity consumption and respond immediately to increased usage. Since January 2024, 100% of the electricity we purchase directly from our energy provider comes from renewable energy sources.
