Offset Projects

Consciously offset environmental impacts together

11.11.2025 - 14:21

By purchasing CO₂ certificates within the framework of the Beyond-Value-Chain Mitigation (BVCM) approach, we contribute to global climate protection over and above our own emission reductions. Currently, we offset 51,000 tons of CO₂—this corresponds to the remaining emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 that we are presently unable to avoid.

We have selected the following climate protection projects for this purpose:

Propagating Household Biogas Projects
In Uttarakhand, India, many households rely on firewood as their primary energy source, leading to deforestation and negative impacts on agriculture. This project enables the installation of 10,400 household biogas plants, which use animal dung as a sustainable fuel.

Safe Drinking Water for Schools in Africa
The program supplies schools in Nigeria and Kenya with modern water purification technologies that operate without electricity or a water connection. As a result, water no longer needs to be boiled, saving firewood in the process. More than 50,000 schools have already benefited, with tens of thousands more to follow. This saves approximately 2 million tons of CO₂e annually.

Italy Val Dogà
This small hydroelectric power plant in Honduras, with a capacity of 13.8 MWh, supplies around 25,000 households with clean energy and replaces fossil fuels. The project stabilizes the local power grid, electrifies four villages, and creates jobs—a model of sustainable hydropower for rural regions.

Circular Rural Poultry Farms
The facility in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh generates renewable electricity from poultry waste and feeds it into the grid, thereby replacing fossil energy sources and reducing emissions. At the same time, odor and hygiene conditions in nearby villages are improved. The plant creates jobs and supports the expansion of the renewable energy sector.
