"Pilot projects in the Cologne, Koblenz and Dortmund area"
The first pilot project launched in August in the Cologne area, was gradually expanded, and now includes 16 stores in Cologne and Koblenz. Customers there can use same-day and next-day delivery in all three service levels. Customer interest was very high in the first two months (August and September): over 500 bookings were recorded, with the Standard Plus and Comfort options being particularly popular.
In Dortmund, the pilot project will initially run until February 2025 in four stores and is then slated for expansion. During this test phase, customers can book same-day delivery in the Standard Plus package as well as next-day delivery in all three service levels.
To ensure a consistent brand image, drivers will wear specially branded workwear, and the vehicles will also feature MediaMarktSaturn branding. Currently, immediate delivery of large appliances can only be booked in person at participating stores; later, this will also be possible online or via the app.
The three service levels that MediaMarktSaturn generally offers throughout Germany can also be booked as additional setup and installation services for immediate delivery of large appliances:
- Standard Plus, €39: Delivery to the point of use, unpacking, and removal of packaging and old appliance.
- Comfort, €79.99: Delivery to the point of use on the agreed date, unpacking, removal of packaging and old appliance, setup and connection, explanation of basic functions and a function check, and removal of old appliance.
- Premium, €119.99: Delivery to the point of use on the agreed date, built-in or undercounter installation, connection and alignment, explanation of basic functions and a function check, removal of old appliance.
